Campers with Special Needs

The J is a community center with the resources to support a limited number of children with special needs for J Camp. This is possible primarily through funding from Sasone and the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City.

Sasone, a department of the Jewish Federation, provides critically needed support for children identified with developmental, medical, or special needs to participate in J Camp group programs. With the help of Sasone and other funding organizations, we work with the staff to modify and adapt our program experiences.

If your child has special needs or will require assistance to successfully function in a group setting at J Camp, contact the appropriate J Camp Director to request an application for para-educator assistance BEFORE enrolling. In addition to the J Camp enrollment fee, families are asked to pay a portion of the para-educator cost. Space is limited. Financial assistance is available on a limited basis for para-educator support.
